Things that I have Written
Traversing Diabetes: Lifestyle Changes
Part 4 of 4
In the previous three articles, I talked about what I have learned about myself and diabetes. For me, and I believe many others, it is more of a lifestyle disease than a true medical condition. I say that because I can control what I eat and when. This is NOT true for all diseases, conditions, and forms of diabetes.
By the time you read this, it will be about four months since I made these discoveries and began altering my lifestyle.
Traversing Diabetes: What I Never Understood
Part 3 of 4
I am not a medical professional, but I have found some new to me information through my own research. Please do not consider this medical advice.
Since Christmas 2025, I have been on a journey of diabetic discovery and understanding. I was diagnosed as a diabetic in 2002. I was most likely a diabetic before that, but I did not know it.
I watch more Facebook Reels** than I should, but I learned information about diabetes that I either never knew or fully understood, and I wish a doctor had explained it to me.
Traversing Diabetes: What is Insulin Resistance?
Part 2 of 4
People with diabetes suffer from insulin resistance. Is it the cause of the diabetes, or is it a symptom?
What do the experts say?
I read three articles from the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, and the NIDDK (National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases). All three articles discussed the causes and treatments of diabetes.
Traversing Diabetes: How Much Sugar is too Much?
Part 1 of 4
I have been diabetic for more than 20 years. I have been overweight WAY longer than that. In 2003, I weighed 292 pounds when I was diagnosed with Diabetes. In panic and fear, I lost 50 pounds. After the fear faded, I started a roller coaster, gaining weight and losing it. At Christmas, I weighed about 217 pounds. Per all the charts, my top weight should be 170 pounds.
Home Security Cameras
Last time, I gave my review of the WhatNot app. Personally, I find it interesting and may buy from it again as long as it is something I need.
During that review, I mentioned I bought a Home Security Camera kit. Aside from the fact that it had 4 cameras, I knew little about the kit I purchased.
Before I dive into the product I purchased, you need to know a bit about Home Security Cameras.
They come in two general styles:
1. Wireless
2. Wired
WhatNot??
What the heck is WhatNot?
This article is more in line with my previous articles about general technology issues.
WhatNot is an app that I learned about sometime in the summer. Before you can understand WhatNot, you need to understand what happens to items you return to Amazon and other big-box stores.
I stood in line at the UPS Store one day a couple of years ago and witnessed the person ahead of me returning dozens of things to Amazon. It was many small kitchen gadgets, like spatulas, and other household items.
None were in original packaging; the UPS guy put them in a bag and slapped a return label on them. There had to be more than fifty items.
Where to Self-Publish your book
The world of self-publishing is vast, with numerous companies competing to assist and profit from your desire to publish a book. It’s so confusing. Who do you choose?
I asked ChatGPT for a list of the top nine self-publishing companies. Here they are:
1. Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP)
2. Apple Books
3. Kobo (Kobo Writing Life)
4. Barnes & Noble
5. Draft2Digital/Smashwords
6. IngramSpark
7. PublishDrive
8. Blurb, Inc
9. Lulu
